Overcoming The Odds Part 2: Scarborough P1 Superstock
Overcoming the odds appears to have turned in to a running theme for this weeks posts and it’s fair to say that Sam and Daisy’s achievements at last weekends Scarborough P1 Superstock event trumps the turmoil we had in getting to the fistral ThunderCat Racing.
Scarborough P1 Superstock As it Happened
Due to fierce winds and massive swell much of the first days events were cancelled. Fortunately Sundays Scarborough P1 Superstock proceedings were able to go ahead to allow Sam and Daisy to make their debut in Championship competition. And what a debut. Despite being brother and sister, their competitive racing partnership was in its infancy and the odds were against them.
Able to overcome various technical issues and gearbox failure 50m from the finish they still clinched 2nd place. Tied level on points at the top, the result went to a countback pushing them back in to 2nd overall in the Scarborough P1 Superstock final proceedings. Given how the races panned out, you can understand they might have been a bit deflated but the team clearly can’t wait for the next round:
Tough conditions with numerous issues including losing our gearbox 50m from the finish line in the last race when we were in the lead! We’re now joint top of the Championship going into Round 2 in Scotland. – Daisy and Sam
