All Talk No Travel Plans

Don’t Just Talk – Lets Make Travel Plans

Talking about travel undoubtedly helps to inspire thoughts and day dreams of domestic or distant exploration. But as we all know, talking is rarely enough to satisfy the appetite. Talk is short lived and before you know it another year has passed with no real progress. Travel plans are the pathway to fulfilling your dreams…

Turning Talk Into Travel Plans

Lets think realistically about how to turn travel talk into real world travel plans. What do you need to progress towards your goal. Unfortunately we can’t all just get up and go, so the best thing to do is to make progressive steps. Here’s a few travel planning tips to get you started:

  • Write down the places you want to go and in what time frame?
  • How long do you want to go for?
  • Who will you go with – Will you go alone, with a partner or friends?
  • How will you fund the trip – existing savings, set up a saving plan, sell things, take a loan?
  • Will you leave work for an extended time?
  • Will you stay at work but use holiday to take trips at different times across different periods?
  • What is the overall purpose of your trip – Learn about different places, freedom, experience new cultures?

Take Hold Of Your Travel Planning and Preperations

That’s an awful lot of things to think about and we are barely scraping the barrel. We are pleased to say a couple of weeks ago we put together a nice post featuring some pretty great guidance on ideal travel preparations. The post gives a good run down on the following five key areas:

  1. Transport – Air, coaches, trains, rental cars and transfers
  2. Accommodation
  3. Itinerary – planning, recreation and packing
  4. Advice from bloggers who have been there and done it
  5. Methods of taking away all the hassle of travel preparations
